Sarawak's Under 20's Development squad will play a program of four competitive matches, including two against an Under 20's representative team.
Malaysian Super League giants Sarawak arrived in Tasmania today ahead of an action packed ten day stay in Hobart.
Sarawak have sent down an Under 20’s squad and will play four big matches in preparation for the Sukma competition next year, a national sports tournament in Malaysia that pits state against state.
Sarawak will face a Tasmanian Under 20’s team twice as part of the Tasmanian tour, with the first match to take place this Sunday as part of a huge double-header with South Hobart’s NPL Fixture. Tasmania Under 20’s vs Sarawak will kick off at 3:00PM at Darcy Street on Sunday October 6 following South Hobart vs Campbelltown City which will kick off at 12:00PM.
Tasmania Under 20’s Coach Peter Saville has selected the Tasmania Under 20’s squad that will face Malaysian powerhouses Sarawak this Sunday.
The Tasmania Under 20’s squad is comprised of representatives from seven of the eight Victory League clubs, with Olympia FC Warriors having the biggest representation with five selected, Northern Rangers and Victory League runners up Devonport City were next best with four players in the squad.
Kane Pierce is the only South Hobart player selected in the squad due to the conflicting National Premier Leagues Semi-Final. Pierce is 22 years of age but has been granted special exemption by Sarawak to participate in the fixture.
